~ A double take for the "Snappy Dresser" - create several different looks with just this one pair of snap together cuff links. Wear a pattern facing the same direction on each cuff, opposite directions, or sport a matched pair or set on each arm - whatever "suits" your mood

~ These 1920's cuff buttons have been salvaged and very mindfully curated with a vintage heart and designers eye to create this unique one of a kind Art Deco to the max set. Complimentary designs that work perfectly without being overly matchy-matchy create an almost palpable vintage spark ready to elevate any outfit or occasion

~ This particular "rebel" set marries two sets or four components - all in a matte silver toned metal. One side with rare Saphiret coloring and a Dragon's Breath ripple effect art glass high rise bullet cabochons and the other with button like round circle in circle carved mother of pearl insets.

AGE OR ERA: True antique Art Deco era cuff links - circa 1920's

MARKINGS: All 4 pieces are marked COBSLINK and have a c in a diamond shape makers mark

METAL / MATERIAL: Matte silver toned metal, mother of pearl or clam shell, and rare fiery rippled saphiret art glass jewels

CLASP / CLOSURE: Male and female snap configuration holds the segments together.

*The proper way to separate most of these art deco treasures is to actually bend or break them apart at an angle vs pulling them straight away from each other - see vintage literature pictured

MEASUREMENTS: Faces are about 1/2" in diameter

ANECDOTAL, METAPHYSICAL, &/or LORE: Snap together / pull apart cufflinks or separable cuff buttons were an original deco concept unique to this historical period - only produced during the 1920's for the most part. They were produced by several companies (such as Kum-a-part by B&W / Baer & Wilde, Swank, Snap Link, Jiffy Links, Jem Link, Cobslink) and came in a wide array of materials, patterns, and color schemes

A vintage advertisement from 1927 for Kum a Part cuff buttons from B & W states that their cuff buttons were already being worn by over 10,000,000 men. A wildy popular art deco must have accessory item ... I would say.

CONDITION: Very nice pre-loved antique / vintage condition - no actual damage to mention. Please keep in mind that these are around 100 years old and have no doubt have seen their share of debauchery ..... perhaps prohibition era late nights, wild Great Gatsby style cocktail parties, black tie formal events, roaring 20's weddings, and/or maybe simply just putting in over time at the office (not nearly as exciting or colorful, I know).

The saphiret glass gems both have internal bubbles, inclusions, variances etc - all original characteristics from creating these masterpieces. See pics. Snaps in good working order.

In an excellent state of preservation and should provide many more years of trusty service.

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina, wear, color variances and/or discoloration.
